Boland Enters the Top Ten in Test Bowling Rankings

Scott Boland has achieved a career milestone by breaking into the top ten of ICC Test bowling rankings for the first time. The Australian bowler’s exceptional performance during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy saw him take an impressive 21 wickets in three matches, averaging just 13.19.

Boland’s standout performance came in the final Test at the SCG, where he claimed a 10-wicket haul for 86 runs, helping Australia secure a 3-1 series victory. This incredible feat earned him the Player-of-the-Match award and a leap of 29 positions, placing him at joint-ninth in the rankings.

Jasprit Bumrah Retains No. 1 Spot

His performance strengthened his position as the No. 1 Test bowler, with an added rating point taking him to 908 points. This is a new record for Indian bowlers in ICC rankings.

Other notable changes in the Test bowling rankings include:

• Pat Cummins moved to No. 2.
• Kagiso Rabada climbed to No. 3.
• Marco Jansen entered the top five, while Josh Hazlewood slipped out of the top three.

Bavuma, Pant, and Babar Shine in Test Batting Rankings

South Africa’s strong batting in the second Test against Pakistan saw several players rise in the Test batting charts.

• Temba Bavuma scored a crucial 106 in the first innings, climbing three spots to a career-best No. 6.
• Ryan Rickelton’s magnificent 259 propelled him 48 places to 55th.
• Kyle Verreynne’s century moved him up to No. 24.

For Pakistan, Babar Azam made gains as well. His scores of 58 and 81 in the second Test brought him closer to the top ten, placing him at No. 12.

Rishabh Pant Reclaims Top Ten Spot

India’s Rishabh Pant returned to the top ten Test batters rankings after notable contributions of 40 and 61 runs in the Sydney Test. Pant’s performance saw him rise three spots to No. 9, while Yashasvi Jaiswal held his ground at No. 3, trailing behind Joe Root and Harry Brook, who remain No. 1 and No. 2 respectively.
