PCB Demands ICC’s Explanation As Broadcasters Omit Pakistan In India’s CT 25 Match

In a significant development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has sought an explanation from the International Cricket Council over a broadcasting hiccup in the ongoing Champions Trophy. The incident happened during India’s first Champions Trophy 2025 match against Bangladesh.
Pakistan’s Name Goes Missing During IND vs BAN Broadcast
Rohit Sharma-led India had a dream start to the Champions Trophy as they defeated Bangladesh in their first match by six wickets. However, the game involved a controversial incident as the name of Pakistan, the official hosts of the event, was not displayed by the broadcasters.
It’s worth mentioning that the broadcasters had only kept the Champions Trophy logo without the host country’s name at the top left corner of the screen.
The blunder infuriated PCB, as the Pakistan board suspected it to be an intentional move by the Indian broadcasters. As a result, the PCB reached out to the ICC, seeking an explanation for the same.
ICC Clarifies It To Be A Technical Error
Meanwhile, the ICC has apparently told the PCB that the error was technical rather than intentional from the broadcasters’ end. However, the Pakistan board remains unconvinced, having speculated foul play from the neighbouring nation.
Although it remains unclear whether it was a technical glitch or not, things have certainly got spiced up ahead of the much-awaited India vs Pakistan clash. Regarded as the mother of all battles, the much-awaited face-off will be played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium on the 23rd of this month.
